everytime i get on a dirt bike or 4 wheeler,my dog goes crazy, jumps on the cage and almost over it ,im afraid he;ll get hurt doing that.iv tryed everything from, makeing him ride on it with me,me chasing him,but he always thinks thats a game and just chases me back and attaks the tire,,even poped one once.
how can i stop my dog from chasing 4 wheelers and dirt bikes.
Answers:
Simple. Don't let him outside off-leash when you're riding one.
Only other thing I can think of, besides running him over and killing him, is to get an electronic training collar (shock collar.) Follow the instructions that come with it to put it on correctly and set the stimulation level, then start up the machine and as soon as he gets close or starts charging at it, zap him. As this is a high-intensity situation, you will probably need to bump the stimulation level up a notch or two from the minimum level you set with the instructions. Whatever you do, don't just start out on high, start it low and bump it up one level at a time until it actually stops him. Once you know his level, use it EVERY time he goes for the bike/4 wheeler, until he stops.
Sounds horrible, but if the alternative is running over your dog's head while he's biting at your tire, I think I'd go for the shock collar.
It would really be better if you could just put him in the house before you start up your "toys." Although I admit it is good exercise, we "chase" our dog with the four wheeler every once in a while, but he's always kept his distance from it. If this is your dog's main form of exercise, you have to do what's necessary to make it safe for him, otherwise put him away and find some other activity to wear him out.
You probably cant...
