my mum has a kelpie X german short haired pointer and he is a good dog. He is about the size of a collie though. Kelpie's in general are great dogs and whatever it would be crossed with would be good. Just think about the sort of breeds that are aggressive like staffys and breeds like that. What ever the mix, It will have both personality traits in him.
kelpies are small. stay away from the crosses,, you will never know what you are gonna get,, you will get no health guarantee and it is just a big gamble...
If you like the kelpie, stick with it.
First, are you experienced with the Kelpie breed? These are high drive, driven dogs that were created to herd tough cattle, they aren't the most sociable breed, NOT GOOD around cats or smaller animals. So with all that said, why would you want to create a cross-breed and take the chance of creating what you want, and you never did say what you were trying to accomplish. Just my opinion. You might want to just find a dog at the shelter or go to petfinder.com and type in "Kelpie" and see what it pulls up.
