Eye trouble?

My red cattle dog always has sleep (you know the sleepy stuff we get in our eyes during our sleep) in his eyes. Is this his breed or is it something else?
Answers:
its really like that. its called eye gunk. my dog always has that , and you just have to carefully wipe it off the eye area every once in a while. ask your vet if you are doubtful ...
my dog gets it too.
If it seems like he has a lot of goop, you may want ot have it checked by your vet. He may have a problem called Dry eye. Allergies will also cause goopy eyes.
If its small amounts tho, like with us, its normal.
there are many breeds that get that as long as it isnt red colored discharge or looks like the corner of the eye closest to his muzzle doesnt seem to be red and looking turned inside out its is normal just wipe it away with a tissue or some cotton. If you see it looking red or really extreme that could be conjunctivitis or cherry eye than no worrys.
All my dogs have sleepy eyes in the mornings when they wake up. I just wipe all their eyes gently with either a piece of damp tissue or a cotton wool pad.
If it's more than just 'sleepy eyes', e.g. a continual discharge throughout the day, then it's probably conjunctivitis, in which case you will need to take him to see your Vet who will prescribe some antibiotics for him to clear it up.
