English Bulldogs... anyone have one? I find that my bulldog has a pretty bad smell - even after she is bathed.

Does anyone have a secret to eliminating this? It isn't so bad right after a bath, but within a couple of days it is as if she needs another bath! She eats Eukanuba food if that matters. We use a high quality shampoo and thoroughly bathe her at least every other week if not more (I got some cleaning tips from a website - like using a Q-tip around her tail and earwash, etc and do that stuff). We also use baby wipes every day to keep her face, tummy and bottom clean. What gives? Is it the breed? Would a professional groomer be the better way to go? Thanks for any insight!

I have 5 of them... there maybe an underlying problem with the skin.. dont matter how baths wont take smell away..
you want to watch how many baths are given also.. to many will strip the natural oils in their coats.. oatmeal shampoo is the best to use, forget about the smell good kinds..
sometimes food can have something to do with it if it is causing the skin problem..
also when using baby wipes, make sure they are unscented ,and with Aloe works great...
it could be her butt, because in some dogs their anal glands can over produce smelly liquids, causing very bad odor. If it's a fishy smell, its because of that. Then you'd need to take him to the doctor to get them drained.
I have 2 English Bulldog females, and they live in the house with us too. Neither of them stink. But I have heard it could be the breed, but I dont know for sure. Is it her hair that stinks or does she have gas? :) My Bulldogs ALWAYS have gas. I feed them Canidae. Try switching her shampoo and blowdry her after her bath. My brother's Bulldog smells like Copper and the vet said it has something to do with her anal glands.
okay do you live in an area with an open field it could be skunks in the area spraying where your dog goes potty, if this is the case you can try rubbing her down with lemons and tomato paste but be sure to give a regular bath right after good luck
